Bob Marley's words were so perfectly simple that they achieved articulacy with the audiences. Bob Marley also readily embraced the herb to a pound in weight everyday, and the exhibit of his astonishing tresses of dreadlocks that grew with ferocity as the 1970s wound down. In 1973 a fresh face teenager David Rodigan and his girlfriend went to see Bob Marley at his very first show in London. At the end of the show Rodigan knew there was no way he was going to get past the hundreds of fans waiting outside the stage door so he and his girlfriend left. Rodigan said: "I came out and walked down Fulham Place Road. And I saw this enormous cloud of smoke coming out of a shop doorway, I thought there was a fire in the building! When the cloud of smoke had cleared, it was none other than the man himself!" It was Bob Marley behind an extra large brown paper cone shaped big head ganja spliff filled with pure raw unmixed weed. Boy oh boy! You should have seen the looks on David Rodiganīs face as he stood frozen with his mouth dropped open wide. He could barely squeak the words out of his mouth; " So, That's famous Bob Marley? David Rodigan exclaimed feebly!" Rodigan was a bewildered man: He just could not find the words he wanted to say to Bob Marley! | | Suddenly Rodigan girlfriend stared at him, and asked: "What do you mean?" Just go and say hello to the man, I've been hearing you go on about this man for all the years I've known you!. David Rodigan decided to braved his way up to Bob Marley and said: "I've just seen your show and I just wanted to say thank you." Rodigan, his throat dry with pulsating heart beat to the tune of about 20 thuds per second. Rodigan said to Bob Marley: "I've waited so long for this night Bob; "I was in that ram jam session and it was just absolutely unadulterated brilliancy, to say the least!" |
