Clement "Coxsone" Dodd!

We now return to the story of the wedding of Mr and Mrs Robert Nesta Marley. As they are both of the Rastafarian religion the wedding took place in a Rastafarian church and later on in the day they had a celebration party surrounded by their brethrens and sistrens. At a Rastafarian celebration, a blessing of the herb is realised. Always plenty of food, music, soft drinks and health drinks such as drinks made from fruits and carrots. True Rastafarians don't indulge in the liquid alcohol spirits. Rita Marley herself was the lead singer of an all female group; "The Soulettes." However, after the merrymakings had died down, Bob Marley spent the best part of 1966 working at an industrial site at  place called Newark, that was quite close to his mother's home.

Burning  inside with ambitious aspirations of wanting to pursue a career in the entertainment arena, Marley teamed up with master technician; the great Lee "Scratch" Perry who was A & R man for Clement "Coxsone" Dodd. Bob Marley made a few records for Lee Perry with the in house band; The Upsetters and even made a couple recordings under the name of Bob Marley and The Upsetters. This is not just a single one persons views, but many of the musical impresarios from Europe and other areas of the world recognised that some of the greatest vocal and instrumental recordings in Jamaican history of the music was produced by Lee "Scratch" Perry.

His lyrics were perfect down to earth simplicity that they achieved a kind of persuasive stance. His fundamental stories today can be related to and understood by individuals everywhere who at some stage in their lives suffered from of genuine loss of  love and longings for escape. In other words, just about every one of us. Bob Marley readily embraced the herb, and the flaunting of his startling tresses of locks that grew with undeniable brutality. Bob Marley became a symbol of love to millions of souls throughout the world.
