The presentation was an honour that highlighted
the degree of group's personage that the Third World
had recognised. Bob Marley was gradually moving
up the stairs of success in the musical arena as
the chains of world wide acclamation began to link
together.1981 produce a European tour, a tour in
which the band broke all festival records in exceeding
the 100,000 capacity at their show in Milan, after
the end of their European tour they were off to
the United States to perform in two shows at the
famous Madison Square Gardens. After the Burnin'
album in 1974 was released. Bob Marley and the Wailers
returned to Jamaica to play in a benefit concert
alongside that grand showman of musical entertainment;
Stevie Wonder. 1976 saw the release of the album
Rastaman Vibration which entered the American Billboard
charts.
This
album included tracks such as Crazy Baldhead, Johnny
Was, Who the Cap Fit and War who's lyrics was made
up from one of Haile Selassie's speeches.1977 saw
the release of the Exodus album. This album securely
established Bob Marley’s international status of
superstardom plus, the Exodus album remained in
the British album charts for 56 weeks! Three singles
taken from the Exodus album; Waiting in Vain, Three
Little Birds and Jamming were big hits and,
the band also had stints of playing in concerts
at London’s Rainbow Theatre.1978 the Kaya album
was released, this saw the band capitalising on
their potent intercontinental successes. Kaya reached
number four on the UK album charts the same week
of its release. This album demonstrates the diverse
moods of Bob Marley himself.
