The 60's, Golden Era Of The 45rpm

Back in1958  with swing of the rock and roll  music the 45rpm record sales took off  like a rocket as this era became the beautiful golden era for the 45rpm, but towards the end of the 60's sales of the 45rpm begin to declined and within the next ten years we saw an upswing towards the 33⅓ 12inch LP album as the music buyers began to realise now that the Long Playing 12inch was far better value for money than the 45rpm singles. Hence, long playing records became a novelty; a new technology of sound recording that had a collection of several musical tracks which had been previously released. This led to the 78-rpm shellac disc and the cylinder phonograph records taking an early retirement slipping into oblivion but never forgotten, these rare relics became collector item. Orchestral recordings of less recognizable works that were produced, was savaged by World War II.

The war years was effective and the musician's fees became negligible, reaching their lowest peak.  A huge amount of new recording companies sprang up all over the the United States of America recording symphonies, quartets, and masses of little known operas, along with works that was somewhat obscured. Some of which were unavailable to the public before, the more popular standard works, such as the symphonies of Beethoven, Brahms, and Tchaikovsky, were being duplicated. The mid-1950s was the year that gave the impression that most of the significant musical output was of Western culture. Then music from Asia and Africa was made available to the average record buying public in America and Europe. floods   of revolutionary  type records began to hit the market place, and notably popular were those that displayed spectacular effects of the stereo sound.
