Berliner created constructed, and improved the efficiency of an old weaving machine which was the first of a long progression of innovations and inventions. Though Emil Berliner fostered many inventions, the must put to mind of a man who developed and created the original recording manufacture industry, as we know it today! So very little have been written about Emil Berliner's achievements and contributions. Yet, truly you could say that Emil Berliner is one of the unsung heroes of the decade, more like a missing link in the chronicles of history! Emil Berliner immigrated to the United States in 1870 and in the year 1877, Berliner set about developing a transmitter that could engage a variable contact of metals! During his experiments, Berliner discovered a mechanism that could operate as a superior telephone receiver. But, Emile Berliner was not satisfied with his new found discovery of advancing telephony systems! In the year 1887, Emil Berliner decided to concentrate on improving the phonograph to which he made another prime contribution of importance that lead to the flat phonographic recording disc! | | Berliner, was not aware of the new vinyl material recently discovered! Emil Berliner had discover that a stylus could moved horizontally, that would diverge from the original cylindral type hill and dale movements. Emile Berliner's phonograph stylus would operate virtually thus, reducing the distortions caused by gravity on Thomas Edison's phonograph recording stylus. After achieving the inventory of the flat disc, Emil Berliner went on to invent and developed a method for the manufacturing the flat discs.
