Jamaica Greatest Recording Artists!

Lee Perry played the mixing lab board as if he was playing an organ, which incidentally, is Perry's favourite musical adornment! Gone and buried was the sombre uncultured demeanour experiments over the past years giving way to a more complex down to earth sounds. One of Reggae 's historian critic commented: The sound that came out of the Black Ark Studio was that of the signature of an artist on his canvas. "The characteristic aura of the Black Ark Studio began to attract some Jamaica's greatest Reggae performers, veterans like British chart smash hit, Burning Spear and Stranger Cole!

And even obscure singers such as Jah Lion, newcomers like Dr Alimantado and The Untouchables. Such was his passion for producing that he routinely gave unknowns a first try and has-beings a shot too! It wasn't too long before the prodigal son Bob Marley returned to Lee Perry again! After the previous break-up of Bob Marley and Lee Perry previous partnership. Bob returned this time to record several songs at the famous Black Ark Studios!. While other studios had performers punching the clock to record their attendance. Perry was only too happy to accommodate visitors to his studio!

He never bother with the practicing rigmarole of the other producers. Perry was more interesting in getting the groove right. A recording session at the Black Ark took on the feel of merriment as Lee Perry never close doors to the concrete studio open for people to wander in and out while he twist and twirl in his chair, clapped his hands, jump and shouted his approval from the mixing board. This is a phenomenon that has become noticeable in all great achievers over the years since time begun; they  exemplify a sudden velocity of wild blissful pleasure of self gratification!
